Vice Cosmetics Aura Collection Swatches and Price Blush, Contour, and Glow!

Vice Cosmetics launched their cheek products and called it the Aura Collection. The collection consists of Aura Blush (8 blushes), Aura Contour (2 contour powders), and Aura Glow (3 highlighters). This post is not yet a full review but more of a swatch fest and first impressions review of the Vice Cosmetics Aura Collection.

Vice Cosmetics Aura Collection Blushes, Contour, and Highlighter Swatches

I was honestly surprised that the Aura collection is this big. I know this isn't as huge as collections released by foreign makeup brands but local brands typically release just half of these number at a time. I like the fact the blushes came in 2 finishes and 8 shades and that the contour and highlighters were chosen to fit the various skin tones that pinays have.

I like the no fuss and frills packaging. No unnecessary mirror or applicator that I don't use anyway. I think they made a great decision doing away with those to bring the pricing down.

lots of swatches below!

NOTES:

  • Aura Collection Price is P145 pesos per piece.
  • Each item has 3.5 grams of product (which is good for at least 2 months of use for blushes in my experience). Not bad!
  • Exclusively available in Shopee, Lazada (to be announced), and Vice Cosmetics Stores (to be announced)

Each product in the Vice Cosmetics Aura Collection comes embossed with a stars logo, a design patterned after Vice Ganda's neck tattoos.

Vice Cosmetics Aura Blushes

The Vice Cosmetics Aura Blushes have 8 shades chosen to suit Filipinas with fair to dark skin tone. Their shade selection live up to their #GandaForAll hashtag.

In the photo above, I swatched the blushes over my bare skin and used my fingers to create the swatches. I also didn't do any photo enhancement except labeling the shade names and only used natural lighting.

The darker shades of the Aura Blushes are somewhat smoother which surprised me. The powder is finely milled too. Some shades were more compact or pressed better and some can give off a bit of powder depending on the quality of the brush you're using to apply the products. No weird scent is a plus for me! At first I thought there is a strong scent but it turned out that was the packaging and not the makeup per se.

Vice Cosmetics Aura Blushes (with Shimmer)

Manyika, Shala, Sweet Lang, and Title have teeny tiny sparkles on the powder but as you can see, the sparkles/shimmer don't really show up when swatched.

  • Manyika looks orange on the pan but is more of a tomato red when swatched
  • Shala looks like a light orange on the pan but is a flattering light peach when applied
  • Sweet Lang is a light baby pink but with a hint of warmth
  • Title looks like it should have been a bronzer on the pan but is surprisingly a pretty coppery blush with a hint of rose under certain lights

Vice Cosmetics Aura Blushes (Matte)

Applauded, Byucon, Talyada, and Winner are matte blush shades that looked dull on the pan but don't let that fool you. As showed in the photo above, they are surprisingly vibrant despite having a bit of a 'dusty' undertone in the pan. Note that  since these are matte blushes they are not creamy to the touch but I was really shookt that they packed a lot of color so you better be careful when applying. Be very gentle!

  • Applauded is a light mauve or a neutral pink
  • Byucon is a wine shade or what would some call a muted red
  • Talyada is like a cross between a purple and a brown or a deeper shade of wine. I think this is the scariest-looking shade in the bunch but it looks so good on fair skin if applied with a stippling brush.
  • Winner is a bright pink with a dash of coral. Very pigment-saturated!

What won me over is that the Vice Cosmetics Aura Collection Blushes are all very wearable despite having really unique shades. I wonder who chose the colors? Pa-high five naman!

Vice Cosmetics Aura Glow

Left to Right: Shining, Shimmering, Splendid

Aura Glow is the collective term for the Vice Cosmetics highlighters in the Aura Collection. I wasn't expecting much but was really happy that the 3 shades they chose are universally flattering (with proper application) and they also made it a point to have one obvious shade each for fair skin, medium skin tone, and dark skin...pero honestly I am very fair and can wear all 3 shades. Sarap ilibre ng meryenda ng pumili ng shades sa totoo lang!

the swatches blended out. L-R: Shining, Shimmering, Splendid

  • Shining is a gold shimmer highlighter
  • Shimmering is a rose gold shimmer highlighter
  • Splendid is a champagne shimmer highlighter

the shimmers is fine enough when buffed out

Vice Cosmetics Aura Contour

As can be seen above, there are 2 shades for the Aura Contour powders, Confeerm and Poshur
  • Confeerm is a cool toned deep brown but also works for light skin
  • Poshur is a warmish midtone brown shade that can double as a bronzer

My first impressions review of the Vice Cosmetics Aura Collection:

I deliberately chose to swatch in 5 stars because that pretty much sums up my opinion regarding this latest release from Vice Cosmetics. I swear whoever is making these decisions regarding new releases gusto ko gawing friend!

  • Lasting power: 3-5 hours on my oily skin (same as other powder blushes, both drugstore and highend)
  • Pigment: fine and buildable so even the striking shades are wearable
  • Scent: the scent is actually with the container/packaging but the product itself doesn't have a lingering scent
  • Ease of use: blendable powders and heavily saturated with pigment which I think is great because you get more bang for buck. Overall regular-makeup-user-friendly. The secret is to layer and use only a little at a time.
  • Texture: Not powdery considering talc is the first ingredient.
  • Other notes: Paraben free and cruelty free, formulated in the US. Doesn't come with mirror and applicator which is fine for me because adding those just add up unnecessary cost anyway. This way, they saved in manufacturing and was able to keep pricing low, giving everyone access to these #GandangPangAura products. This is a smart move.
Will update with full review after I made rampa all over wearing these! I literally had them for just 2 days!

UPDATE December 22: I love these so much so I bought a bunch for friends and family. Sulit na sulit!
