Okay, okay, the Ever Bilena matte lipstick is not a new product but hey, they did have a fabulous new shade called Vivid Violet so I figured it is time to showcase my collection of 8 of these gorgeous lipsticks!
I've actually been using the Ever Bilena matte lipstick for a solid 3 or 4 years now and have had my favorites throughout the years. I've first discovered this lipstick when it was selling for just 135 pesos and now it is still very affordable at just 165 pesos a piece. Quite a bargain, eh?
Let's move on to the review :)
Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick Review
The packaging for the Ever Bilena matte lipsticks is a square-ish matte tube with the words EB Matte in silver. The same silver coloring envelopes the inner tube. It looks nice but then the silver fades after a few weeks/months.
Yes, the ingredients does contain paraben but remember that paraben isn't so evil, okay? I don't get why people freak out about it as if they are going to drop dead by using it when 95% of all drugstore products and plenty of highend brands have that ingredient...because guess what? It is used to help preserve makeup.
One of my friends reacted as if I meant to murder her upon seeing that paraben is listed in the ingredients so we went through her makeup stash and it turned out that yes, about 90% of her makeup contains parabens. I told her that if that is such a big deal then we should throw out those makeup, about half of which are from highend brands. She stopped yakking after that, haha!
Guys, parabens are only bad if there is a HUGE quantity of it or if you have an allergy to it, if you don't and you don't eat 5 tubes of lipsticks a day, you should be fine. Personally, I have sensitivity to parabens for most face products and I'm okay with using this lipstick so just STOP with the hyping okay? Inform yourself and don't always believe hypes.
Anyway, back to the review of this Ever Bilena matte lipsticks, I would just like to note that the colorful cap contains extra product that can also be used. See the photo above? That's usable lippie on the cap!
Personally, I find that the cap thing does come off sometimes and it can cause a mess inside your bag so it might be better to glue it on. You won't be missing out on anything, as the main bullet contains a generous 3.6 grams and I'm pretty sure that can last at least a few months even if you use the same shade every single day.

I find that the longer you have the lipstick open, the more matte it gets. The nude shades above are lipsticks that I've had for more than a year, and their swatches are more matte compared to the swatches of the darker shades that I just got this year. I'm thinking it is because they are more dry. Once on your lips and the lipstick has settled, their finish is the same type of matte. Not flat matte but matte nonetheless.

Don't worry guys, again, they do dry or settle to a powdery matte like the photo of the nude shades.

The Ever Bilena Matte lipsticks are not meant to be kissproof nor to be long lasting. They are comparable to the WetnWild Megalast lipsticks which sells for 299 pesos locally so not bad, right?
